Governor DeSantis raised a whopping $8.2 million in the first 24 hours following his campaign launch, shattering the fundraising record held by Joe Biden:
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis brought in $8.2 million in the first 24 hours following his campaign launch, shattering the record previously held by Joe Biden in 2019 ($6.3 million). The $8.2 million figure is a hard-dollar, direct-to-campaign figure.
“Direct-to-campaign figure”, meaning a lot of these are probably smaller dollar donations.
DeSantis not only shattered Joe Biden’s record, but it took Trump nearly six weeks to bring in what DeSantis raised in 24 hours:
The $8.2 million DeSantis haul in 24 hours compares to the $9.5 million the Trump campaign — despite having his 2020 presidential contact list — raised in its first six weeks https://t.co/ajg664eDen

That kind of fundraising haul indicates a lot of excitement for DeSantis and I think at some point soon we are going to see the polls start reflecting that excitement.
