BREAKING: Donald Trump Jr. reaches agreement to testify before Senate Intel Committee…

The news is just out that Donald Trump Jr. has reached an agreement to testify once more before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Here’s the lowdown:

CNN – Donald Trump, Jr. and the Senate Intelligence Committee have reached a deal for the President’s eldest son to appear before the committee behind closed doors in mid-June, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

The two sides reached a deal after the committee issued a subpoena for Trump Jr. to appear before the committee.

The interview will be limited to two to four hours and limited in scope to five to six topics, the source said. The two sides also agreed it will be the last time the President’s eldest son will be asked to come before the committee in relation to its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 campaign.

So I guess my predictions for what would happen were wrong.

The fact that it’s behind closed doors is probably good for Trump Jr, to keep the spectacle of this to a minimum. But I assure you that whatever he says will be leaked almost immediately so we’ll know if anything happens.

  1. “Don Jr’s interview w/Senate Intel will be limited to 2-4 hours & limited in scope to 5-6 topics. The two sides agreed it will be the last time he will be asked to come before the committee in relation to its probe of Russian interference in 2016 campaign. ”

That does not stop House demonrats from harassing Jr., nor does it stop the Senate “stupidity committee” from calling back for some other purpose. This crap is never going to end. I am sick of it. I think most Americans are sick of it, and all it is doing is resolving in our minds never to vote for demonrats OR rinos again. This is the perfect

  2. Thank you for your question senator. I choose to invoke my fifth amendment rights.

  3. Oh that is bullsh*t. That’s like taking the semi-finals of The Apprentice off network television and putting them on HBO.

Luckily, there are lots of people out there who pirate HBO shows.

  4. Me personally…I would send each member a Chick-Fil-A sandwich and say thanks but no thanks and not show up.

    1. I’d show up with CFA for me alone, and take a bite every time they asked a question and mumble around my mouth-full of delicious chicken goodness.

  5. I’m not so sure it’s a good idea to have it behind closed doors. The left will cherry pick and twist everything he says and go straight to the media with it. We will have nothing to look at to call them on their BS.

    1. What will the Left do if he doesn’t appear.
What will the Left do if he does appear?

Got the hang of this. At least he got some concessions, final bite of his apple – that alone is worth sitting there in closed session pleading the 5th Amendment. Just like Lois Learner.

      1. @factotum If….he pleads the fifth. I hope he puts them in their place.

Dang…bold is really bold! Almost like yelling.

I would like for him to put them in their place also, but I understand if he might be more reserved. I love Don Jr, he’s great at verbal slap downs. The dude is articulate and very well measured. Lol, his style is quite the opposite of his father in that sense. President Trump is great as slap downs too but his approach is way different than his sons. Honestly sometimes I wish Trump Jr was the one who ran for president but I’ll take what I can get at this point.

          1. @david-jenson I can’t get your name to pop up for nothing. Gives me other Davids.

Trump is rather colorful and there are times I wash he was more controlled and dialed it back some. In any case, I love that he doesn’t take any crap from the media and the Democrat party…unlike Bush who let them say and do anything they wanted without challenging it.

      2. @factotum

Let’s hope he doesn’t pull a Lerner and give a speech before he invokes his 5th amendment

        1. @david-jenson Yeah, because unlike Lerner the Democrats will pounce on it and revoke his 5th amendment.

  6. Can you imagine a democratic Senate committee chair subpoenaing a democratic family member (or any Democrat) for that matter just because they want to? I can’t.

Hillary’s “what difference does it make” hearing doesn’t count since the Republicans actually played hard ball to force that one.

  7. He should plead the 5th on every single thing, and have a huge grin on his face as he does it too. This is all done and over with and he should give the inquisitors zero to work with.

    1. They know they don’t have anything on him. They just wanted the theater. Which created a backlash, so now Dems have to save face. Game’s over. They owe Junior one, for his help in their CYA stunt.

Non-event. Nothing burger. Mitchell was right after all.

        1. SEIU bought us Barry Soetoro. Don’t let the union buy you another single candidate, from your local school boards on up.

    1. Phew, dodged another Democrat heat seeking missile. The gang who could not shoot straight.
