Back at the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, SpaceX founder Elon Musk announced the company was enabling Starlink service at no cost for the people of Ukraine. Months and months and months later, after getting zero support from the U.S. government, or even any credit for this action from them or the press, as the feds continue to harass him and his companies and the Twitter deal has become the latest cause for media leftists to rally around as an attack on Musk and free speech, he announced this week the company was losing too much money and the Pentagon needed to step up.
And the Ukraine ambassador told him “f*** off” btw. “We’re just following his recommendation,” said Musk.
However, a few minutes ago on Twitter Musk apparently changed course and relented, in a pretty bitterly sarcastic tweet that nevertheless sounds like actual policy.
The hell with it … even though Starlink is still losing money & other companies are getting billions of taxpayer $, we’ll just keep funding Ukraine govt for free

When someone replied that no good deed goes unpunished, Musk replied, Even so, we should still do good deeds.”
Even so, we should still do good deeds

This was also an interesting reply:
Fate loves irony

So he may still have a gripe – legitimately — but it sounds like he is stating an actual decision.
