Here’s more:
FOX NEWS – Turkey’s government has decided to close down dozens of media outlets, including 45 newspapers and 16 television stations in the wake of a failed military coup, the country’s state-run news agency reported Wednesday.
The Anadolu Agency also reported that close to 1,700 military officers have been formally discharged.
CNN Turk reported that 130 media organizations had been shuttered in a widening crackdown by Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government.
Earlier this week, the Ankara government issued detention warrants for 42 journalists suspected of links to the alleged coup plotters.
Reuters reports that Turkish authorities are saying they’ve dismissed more than 2,400 military personnel, a higher number than what the AP and Fox News is reporting:
REUTERS – Turkish authorities on Wednesday announced the dismissal of more than 2,400 military personnel and the closure of more than 60 media outlets, including major daily newspaper Zaman, CNN Turk reported, in a widening crackdown following this month’s failed coup attempt.
A total of 726 military officers and 1,684 soldiers have been discharged, the broadcaster said. In addition, three news agencies, 16 television channels and 45 daily newspapers, among others, have been ordered to be shut down, it said.
The moves are likely to further raise concern among rights groups and Turkey’s Western allies about the reach of President Tayyip Erdogan’s purge in the wake of the failed military coup on July 15-16.
I could understand a purge in the military over a legitimate coup. But clearly Erdogan is using this phoney coup to not only purge his enemies, but to fill these spots with Erdogan loyalists all over the country, in every facet of society, from education to finance to the judiciary and more.
Business Insider posted a chart earlier today that shows Erdogan’s post-coup purge in this nifty graph:
Here’s a graphic that was done about a week ago that shows similar figures:

As Walid Shoebat has pointed out, Daniel 7 tells us that the antichrist will change times and laws:
He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Part of this post-coup rampage will be to go ahead and change the constitution (the law), which they’ve already begun:
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said late Monday that the process to draft the new constitution had been commenced.
“We have agreed to make minor changes to the current constitution, and the process to draft a whole new constitution has started,” he said.
Remember, Erdogan has already issued a State of Emergency that allows him to rule by decree. This will allow him to change the constitution and complete his resurrection of the Ottoman beast in a much quicker timeframe, especially given that his opposition is now being trodden under his feet.
He wants it done by 2023. I’m betting he gets it done sooner.
