BREAKING: Federal Judge announces ‘intent’ to appoint Trump-requested ‘special master’ to review Mar-a-Lago seizure

As you know, President Trump and his team have demanded a “special master” be appointed in the Mar-a-Lago case to review the seizures made by the FBI at the behest of the politicized Biden DOJ.

Trump’s lawyers filed a motion Monday saying the assault on his home “involved political calculations aimed at diminishing the leading voice in the Republican Party, President Trump.”

Well U.S. District Judge from the Southern District of Florida Judge Aileen M. Cannon announced this afternoon her intent to appoint one.

“Pursuant to Rule 53(b) (1) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Court’s inherent authority, and without prejudice to the parties’ objections, the Court hereby provides notice of its preliminary intent to appoint a special master in this case,” she wrote in a late Saturday filing.

A hearing on the Motion is scheduled for September 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The hearing shall be conducted at the Paul G. Rogers U.S. Courthouse, 701 Clematis Street, Courtroom 1, West Palm Beach Florida, Florida 33401,” it reads.

Cannon also ordered the Justice Department to file under seal a “particularized notice indicating the status” of its review of the seized property, “including any filter review conducted by the privilege review team and any dissemination of materials beyond the privilege review team.”

Cannon also said that the Justice Department should include in its filings its “respective and particularized positions on the duties and responsibilities of a prospective special master, along with any other considerations pertinent to the appointment of a special master in this case.”

Trump’s motion for a special master filed Monday evening, requested that the Justice Department halt its ongoing review of the material seized by the FBI during the raid — some labeled classified, and others covered by attorney-client privilege — until an independent review could be conducted.

“Preliminary intent” is a pretty iffy term, and there is no guarantee the actual hearing or actual appointing of a special master will pan out.

But this is a major development in the sense that it shows that Trump’s claims have legal merit, and that they will carry weight going forward in the witch hunt.

Plus it must be driving the MSM absolutely INSANE right now. Which is always a bonus.
