The federal judge overseeing Trump’s lawsuit against the DOJ has just appointed Trump’s pick as Special Master, NY Federal Judge Raymond Dearie.
The DOJ had agreed to Dearie in previous filings.
NOW: Judge Aileen Cannon has denied DOJ's request to carve out docs with classified markings from her order halting the use of seized materials in the criminal probe and has appointed NY federal judge Raymond Dearie to serve as special master. The judge also denied the motion by the DOJ to continue using classified material to further their investigation:
Judge Cannon appoints a special master & refuses to lift the injunction prohibiting DOJ from using classified documents to further the criminal investigation, also impeding intelligence community review of the damage Trump has done. Next, 11th Circuit for appeal. Terrible ruling. pic.twitter.com/F8l5jYdgjq

The DOJ will no doubt appeal this denial by Cannon, as they are already appealing her decision to appoint a special master with the 11th circuit.
But thus far, Trump is winning in court and this is a good thing. The review by the special master must be completed by November 30th.
