BREAKING: Flynn judge just appointed Clinton judge to argue AGAINST dropping case against Flynn [UPDATE: THERE’S MORE]

It turns out Judge Sullivan isn’t just interested in getting amicus brief statements from anti-Trump organizations, he’s now appointing a Clinton judge to argue against dropping the case against Flynn:

The order by Judge Sullivan says:

Upon consideration of the entire record in this case, it is hereby ordered that the Court exercises its inherent authority to appoint The Honorable John Gleeson (Ret.) as amicus curiae to present arguments in opposition to the government’s Motion to Dismiss.

As Davis readily notes, there is no one opposed to the dropping of this case, except perhaps the judge himself.

When asked last week if the judge gets a say, AG Barr went out of his way to answer professionally without saying anything to antagonize the judge. When Trump was asked today if he thinks the judge should recuse himself, he evaded the question, changing the subject to just talk about Flynn. My point is no one is antagonizing this judge so that one could say he’s acting reacting to that.

It appears this is all coming from the judge himself who apparently, for whatever reason, wants to keep this case going for a while before he ultimately ends up allowing it to be dismissed.

UPDATE: Apparently Sullivan also said he may pursue a contempt or perjury charge against Flynn for abandoning his guilty plea:

A federal judge late Wednesday suggested he may pursue contempt or perjury charges against former national security adviser Micheal Flynn for abandoning an earlier guilty plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.

The brief one-page order does not say why Flynn could be held in contempt for perjury. It is likely the contempt charge stems from declaring under oath at two different court proceedings that he was guilty of lying to the FBI.

Flynn later reversed course in January and claimed he never lied. He had pled guilty in late 2017 and again in 2018 to lying to the FBI about his contacts with the former Russian ambassador in the transition period before Mr. Trump took office.

Good grief. Talk about not wanting to let the case go.
