Fox has cancelled long-time, successful FBN host Lou Dobbs, a favorite of President Donald Trump and still very much in the leadership on the MAGA side of media.
The move will doubtlessly TICK OFF a viewer base that Fox is losing in droves. The viewer base that gave them four years of unbelievable ratings. A viewer base being distributed to OAN and Newsmax and elsewhere in a hemorrhage of ratings for the Fox networks.
From the LA TIMES:
Fox News has canceled “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” the program hosted by television’s staunchest supporter of Donald Trump and of his assertions of voter fraud in the 2020 election, The Times has learned.
Dobbs’ program, which airs twice nightly at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern on the Fox Business Network, will have its final airing Friday, according to a Fox News representative who confirmed the cancellation. Starting next week, the program will be called “Fox Business Tonight,” with rotating substitute hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman, who filled in for Dobbs on Friday.
Fox was just sued for almost three BILLION dollars, and the suit names Dobbs personally.
But more recently Dobbs has come under serious criticism for pushing baseless claims about the 2020 election. After Smartmatic threatened legal action, citing comments from Dobbs and others, a stunning fact-check aired on Lou Dobbs Tonight and two Fox News programs.
Clearly Smartmatic was not satisfied with the segments, as they filed a lawsuit against Fox News that named Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, and Jeanine Pirro.
It’s obvious what’s driving things here. It’s two things. The money, and the vengeance.
Retribution for daring to question Lord Biden’s glorious and flawless victory. Punishment for stepping out of line. And trying to damage control in the face of an aggressive and ABSURD lawsuit.
UPDATE: Former President Donald Trump responds to cancellation of Lou Dobbs.
“Lou Dobbs is and was great. Nobody loves America more than Lou. He had a large and loyal following that will be watching closely for his next move, and that following includes me.” – Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States
