There are reports of an active shooting incident in Los Angeles, and hostages have been taken.
UPDATE: It sounds like the suspect was being chased by police, he crashed into the store and ran inside. That’s where he took hostages.

Two people were just released to the police from the Trader Joe’s. Very good sign.
Police say they don’t know how many hostages remain inside.

More hostages have been released. The suspect was supposed to be handcuffed, he was going to give himself up. They’re not sure what’s going on exactly.
HOLY CRAP – according to local news, the suspect was persuaded by the hostages to give himself up to the police!!! He handed them his gun and they all came out!!! WOW!!
Thank God this was resolved peacefully.

I was just in the middle of a shoot out at Silverlake Trader Joe’s. The shooter was right behind me I saw him crash his car and then get out and shoot and there were 20 cop cars all around and swat team and we just got evacuated and he still in the store apparently.
