BREAKING: Hilton issues statement after hotel in Minneapolis refused service to federal agents

Earlier today we told you that, per DHS, a Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis flat out refused service to federal immigration agents because of President Trump’s deportation of illegal immigrants.

Now, Hilton has responded and they say the aforementioned hotel is independently owned and operated and does not reflect the company’s values.

Per CNBC:

Hilton, in a statement from a spokesperson, said, “Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values.”

“We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel, and can confirm that Hilton works with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone,” the spokesperson said.

Even if this is a franchise hotel, it still bears the Hilton name and must abide by Hilton’s general policies. If it refuses to do so, Hilton should force the hotel to change its name, and they should make a big deal about it if they really want to protect their brand.
