The House Judiciary Committee has just announced that they will begin holding impeachment hearings next week:
POLITICO – The House Judiciary Committee will hold its first hearing next week on the impeachment of President Donald Trump, the next phase in the process that could result in the third-ever presidential impeachment before the end of the year.
The hearing, scheduled for next Wednesday, will focus on the definition of an impeachable offense and the formal application of the impeachment process. The panel will invite White House lawyers to attend and participate.
Here’s more:
BREAKING: House Judiciary Committee is slated to hear from constitutional lawyers on Dec. 4, according to Democratic aides.
The hearing will feature a panel of legal experts who will apply the Constitutional law "to the facts that have been found."

In letter Nadler says: “The committee intends the hearing to serve as an opportunity to discuss the historical and constitutional basis of impeachment as well as the Framers’ intent and understanding of terms like ‘high crimes and misdemeanors.’”

The House hasn’t even voted on Articles of Impeachment yet Nadler is going ahead with hearings? This sounds more like a Shifty Schiff process than a legitimate impeachment hearing.
I suspect that they are holding hearings so quickly because they need to rebuild momentum for impeachment among their caucus and the voters, because right now it’s becoming more and more unpopular. Watch these two clips from CNN last hour:
Both Zeleny and Blade suggest that Democrats haven’t moved public sentiment and that Democrats are increasingly seeing impeachment as a loser for them. So by all means, let’s hold more hearings!
