The House just passed a short-term continuing resolution that kicks a potential government shutdown down the road until later in March.
Specifically, the CR moves funding deadlines to both March 8th and March 22nd. We told you yesterday that Speaker Johnson asked the White House about this.
A majority of Republicans voted for the bill, as did nearly all Democrats.
Here’s the news:
🚨 THE HOUSE has passed another CR to keep the government open, shifting funding deadlines to 3/8 and 3/22.
Vote was 320-99
All but two Democrats voted yes. 97 Republicans voted no. @SpeakerJohnson got majority of the majority.
Plan is to take it up in the Senate tonight
