BREAKING: House votes overwhelmingly to stop non-citizens from voting in DC

The House of Representatives have just voted overwhelmingly to stop non-citizens from voting in Washington, DC.

There were at least 56 Democrats who joined Republicans for a vote of 266-148.

The new bill is “to prohibit individuals who are not citizens of the United States from voting in elections in the District of Columbia.”

I’m honestly surprised by this, but I’m glad it passed. Let’s just hope the Senate has as easy a time passing it as the House did.

UPDATE: Grok points out that the bill also “reclassifies illegal voting by noncitizens as an aggravated felony.”
