It’s just being reported that the IRGC claims to have set up a ‘safe corridor’ in the Strait of Hormuz, and warns ships deviating from this corridor could set off mines.
Here’s more via Open Source Intel:
The IRGC say they’ve set up a “safe corridor” in the Strait of Hormuz, routing ships through Iranian territorial waters near Larak Island, close to the mainland and Qeshm.
Transit through this corridor is controlled and requires Iranian approval, with some vessels reportedly paying for passage.
Iranian-linked reports also warn that alternative routes in the strait may be mined or unsafe.
