I wouldn’t have predicted this, but Rep. Lauren Boebert just apologized for offending the Muslim community with her ‘jihad squad’ story about Ilhan Omar:
“I apologize to anyone in the Muslim community I offended with my comment about Rep. Omar. I have reached out to her office to speak with her directly. There are plenty of policy differences to focus on without this unnecessary distraction.”

I am a little surprised that Boebert apologized because it goes against her tough girl persona. But not completely surprised. After all, she just gave Democrats everything they need to forever scandalize her as a bigot and something else they can use against the Republican party.
She’s right that it was an unnecessary distraction and with elections coming up next year, she just gave her opponent something to use against her.
As far as Democrats go, the apologize won’t mean a hill of beans. They’ll still try and destroy her for it.
