It’s just being reported that a man with an AR-15 on the Senate side of the Capitol was just arrested by the Capitol Police.

From colleague Alex Rego: Capitol Police confirmed to her that the man had an AR 15 and has been arrested. Motivation is unclear. All the police activity is on Columbus circle, close to Union Station on Senate side of Capitol Hill

We just searched the area in the park that we secured. Out of an abundance of caution, we going to search the suspect’s belongings. Again, the suspect is in custody. Investigation ongoing.
