BREAKING: NBA superstar banned from team over vaccine

The vaccine mandate claims another victim. New York’s Brooklyn Nets has just announced they are banning superstar Kyrie Irving because he refuses to get the jab:

Here’s more from the NY Post:

In wake of Nets star Kyrie Irving’s apparent refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the 29-year-old will not be a part of the team until he does, the Nets announced in a surprise statement Tuesday morning.

Exactly one week before the Nets kick off their regular season against the Bucks, the team announced Irving will not practice or play with the team – even during away games, where he is allowed to play.

“Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant,” the statement read. “Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose. Currently the choice restricts his ability to be a full-time member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability.

Due to local restrictions in New York, every Nets and Knicks player must be vaccinated to practice or play home games. Irving is the only member of the Nets who is not vaccinated.

Irving’s absence as a basketball player won’t have much of an affect on everyday Americans like 30% of pilots being fired, but that’s not the point. Irving is an American just like any other and deserves to have his freedoms protected and respected. The Nets claim they they respect his right to choose not to get the vaccine, but it doesn’t sound much like they do. And most certainly the city of New York doesn’t respect it, as they are enforcing this mandate in the first place.

It’s amazing how far we’ve fallen in this great country. Of course, we could still fall much farther:
