Democrats have gotten their way and haves slightly delayed the Kavanaugh hearing by a few days, at the very least.
A new hearing for Kavanaugh and his accuser is scheduled for next Monday at 10am:

From Fox News:
The Senate Judiciary Committee has invited Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford to a public hearing on Sept. 24.
Thursday’s vote on whether to recommend Kavanaugh’s nomination to the full Senate has been delayed, sources tell Fox News.
Democrats are also still trying to get an FBI investigation into these phony allegations:

And some Dem members of the Judiciary committee are suggesting they might not attend the hearing unless they get an FBI investigation…
From colleague Peter Doocy. Dem CT Sen Blumenthal says he doesn’t want to even attend a hearing until after a FBI investigation is done

Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. I wish none of this were happening but I guess it is what it is at this point. Republicans don’t want to look too dismissive with elections around the corner. And all Democrats will be there for the public hearing…they wouldn’t miss their last opportunity for the world.
Grassley had this to say about the public hearing:
Grassley on re-opening Kavanaugh hrngs: Anyone who comes forward as Dr. Ford has done deserves to be heard. My staff has reached out to Dr. Ford to hear her account, and they held a follow-up call with Judge Kavanaugh this afternoon.

Grassley on new hrng for Kavanaugh: Unfortunately, committee Democrats have refused to join us in this effort. However, to provide ample transparency, we will hold a public hearing Monday to give these recent allegations a full airing

Guess I can’t sleep in on Monday.
