The Pentagon is confirming tonight that four Army soldiers have gone missing in Lithuania, and it happened during a training exercise.
Both DOD’s top spokesman and Secretary of Defense commented on this tonight:
We’re aware that 4 U.S. soldiers are currently missing in Lithuania during a training exercise & that search and recovery efforts are underway.
Our hearts go out to the soldiers & families affected by this situation.
We will provide more information when it becomes available. pic.twitter.com/Rc5L79Kidv— Sean Parnell (@SeanParnellATSD) March 26, 2025
From Hegseth: “Four of our brave soldiers from 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division are currently missing in Lithuania. They were conducting scheduled tactical training. Our prayers are with their families, teammates, the entire unit—and everyone conducting search operations. Nothing our troops do — whether in combat or in training — is ever routine. We will not rest until our troops are found.”
Our prayers are with those soldiers and their families. Hopefully this turns out well for everyone involved.
