[UPDATED] QAnon Shaman Jacob Chansley finally FREED from prison after new exculpatory video emerged

Jacob Chansley, the QAnon Shaman who has been in prison over two years for being in the Capitol on January 6th, has now been freed from prison and sent to a halfway house.

Chansley is set for release from the halfway house in just under two months.

Here’s more via Daily Mail:

The lawyer who represented the ‘QAnon Shaman’ in his trial for storming the Capitol on January 6 has said that his client has been released from prison to a halfway house.

Jacob Chansley, 35, pleaded guilty in September 2021 to civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol, among other charges, and was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.

In a statement to DailyMail.com on Thursday his attorney Albert S. Watkins said he had been released from prison to the custody of a halfway house.

‘After serving eleven months in solitary prior to his sentence being imposed, and only 16 months of his sentence thereafter, it is appropriate this gentle and intelligent young man be permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law abiding and enriching life,’ said Watkins.

‘I applaud the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard,’ added Watkins.

Bureau of Prison records confirmed that Chansley is in the custody of the Residential Reentry Management field office in Phoenix, with a release date set for May 25.

It was not immediately clear what led to Chansley’s early release, and Watkins declined to comment, saying: ‘This was a decision of the US Bureau of Prisons. I cannot speak for the US Bureau of Prisons.’

Federal guidelines allow for reduced prison time due to good behavior, but under those guidelines Chansley would have expected to serve at least 35 months and 22 days of his 41-month sentence.

Instead, he was transferred to the halfway house after just 27 months in prison, including the time served prior to his sentencing.

It sounds like someone in the US Bureau of Prisons saw the new video of Chansley being led through the Capitol by police officers and decided he didn’t need to be there any longer. Kudos to them.

Here’s the statement from Bill Shipley, his current attorney on Twitter that came overnight:

Watkins says Jake Chansley will “make his thoughts known about all that has happened when it is the right time to do so.”

UPDATE: Shipley says the video had nothing to do with Chansley getting out early.

I was under the impression the new video might have had something to do with it given the article (Chansley serving 27 mos instead of 35) and that Shipley said “The Tucker revelations are significant”.
