The Senate Homeland Security Committee voted a few minutes ago on Markwayne Mullin’s nomination to DHS Secretary and Chairman Rand Paul tried to block the nomination by voting against Mullin.
But John Fetterman voted FOR Mullin, making the vote 8-7 in favor, and sending his nomination to the floor.

If all the Democrats had been in agreement, Paul would have succeeded in blocking the nomination completely. But because of Fetterman, Paul loses again.
