UPDATE: SHOOTER APPREHENDED — Active shooter situation; four police officers shot, multiple civilian casualties in Illinois

A bad scene is unfolding in Aurora, Illinois where an active shooter situation is happening.

Here’s what we know from the Daily Herald in Illinois:

Four Aurora police officers and multiple civilians have been wounded and the suspected shooter is still at large in an industrial area near Prairie and Highland avenues, according to preliminary reports from the scene.

There are unconfirmed reports that at least one civilian is dead. Multiple victims are being airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooting took place at the Henry Pratt Company, a manufacturing firm, at 401 S. Highland.

“There is an active shooter near Highland and Archer. Aurora Police are on the scene. More information will be available soon,” the city of Aurora said on Twitter.

SWAT teams from throughout the suburbs are being called to the scene as is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Police are urging anyone in the area of Prairie and Highland to shelter in place.

Many ambulances have already arrived at the scene which would suggest this could be pretty bad.

The active shooter is said to be still at large.

Fox News reports that witnesses are saying “There was an employee going down an aisle shooting everybody.”
