[BREAKING UPDATE – Trump just weighed in] – REPORT: Iran sends proposal to Trump, but he rejects it and here’s why…

It’s being reported by Reuters that Iran sent a proposal to President Trump, but he rejected it. This jives with what Trump said yesterday.

Here’s what’s being reported via their Chief National Security reporter:

(Reuters) – An Iranian proposal so far rejected by U.S. President Donald Trump would allow shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and end the U.S. blockade of Iran while leaving talks on Iran’s nuclear program for later, a senior Iranian official said on Saturday.

Reuters and other news organizations already reported over the past week that Tehran was proposing to reopen the strait before nuclear issues were resolved. The official confirmed that this new timeline had now been spelled out in a formal proposal conveyed to the United States through mediators.

Iranian media said Tehran’s 14-point proposal included the withdrawal of U.S. forces from areas surrounding Iran, lifting the blockade, releasing Iran’s frozen assets, payment of compensation, lifting sanctions and ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, as well as a as a new control mechanism for the strait.

It couldn’t be more clear why Trump rejected it, because it delays the nuclear weapon talks for later. Trump’s number one mission is to prevent Iran from getting nukes and number two is to dismantle their ballistic missile infrastructure. If nukes get pushed to the side, he’s just not going to accept the proposal.

Also, he mentioned yesterday that multiple factions are vying for power, so even if he wanted to accept this proposal, would it be from the people who are (or will be) running the country?

UPDATE: Trump literally just wrote this after the report came out. It sounds like there is a newer proposal that he hasn’t seen yet. I’m guessing it’s different than what is being reported on above. If it’s not, I’m thoroughly confused:

I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
