DeSantis says his dream job would be a U.S. Supreme Court Justice and that he is very close with Clarence Thomas.

DeSantis as a SCOTUS justice would be in fact huge, especially to replace either Alito and Thomas, who are respectively 76 and 77 years of age. Honestly, if they are planning on retiring, right after the midterms would be the time to do it.
