The Senate just voted to advance President Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel, and the vote was along party lines.
There was not a single Democrat voted in support of advancing Patel’s nomination. And Mitch McConnell was the 51st vote.
The full vote was 51-47.
The Senate will move quickly to confirm Patel according to Senator Markwayne Mullin, noting that because this is a director-level nomination it doesn’t require the full 30 hours. They will vote to confirm around 1:45PM, assuming there are no holdups.
