This morning Fox News has confirmed that Speaker McCarthy will recommend an impeachment inquiry for Joe Biden to House Republicans.

Fox confirms McCarthy will tell House Republicans today that beginning an impeachment inquiry for the President is “the logical next step”

But the problem, according to Chad Pergram, is that right now McCarthy doesn’t have the votes for an impeachment inquiry:
5) McCarthy has also been inching toward an impeachmemt inquiry. But so far McCarthy’s calls for impeachment have failed to impress some Republicans.

6) And, it’s about the math.
McCarthy lacks the votes to begin an impeachment inquiry. McCarthy is further hamstrung in his narrow majority by having several Republicans away this week.

As I understand it, a House Republican meeting has been scheduled for Thursday morning with several committee chairmen like Jim Jordan and James Comer for them to lay out the evidence they have against Joe Biden. Perhaps this will persuade Republicans on the fence to proceed with impeachment.
