UPDATE: Stacey Abrams to file lawsuit!

Stacey Abrams has finally admitted that she can’t win the Georgia governor’s race in a speech just a few minutes ago. She’s essentially conceding the race to Brian Kemp, even though she says she isn’t:

AP – Democrat Stacey Abrams says she can’t win the Georgia governor’s race, effectively ending her challenge to Republican Brian Kemp.

Her speech Friday effectively puts a stop to the contest. The final result had been in doubt for 10 days after the election.

Abrams made her announcement just after 5 p.m. That was the earliest state officials could certify the results after a court-ordered review of absentee, provisional and other uncounted ballots. Abrams’ campaign had contended there were potentially enough uncounted votes to force a runoff.

Abrams had hoped to become the first black governor of the Deep South state and the first black female governor of any state.

Kemp is Georgia’s former secretary of state. He was backed by President Donald Trump.

Abrams stressed as she spoke: “This is not a speech of concession.”

She claims in her speech that she’s no conceding because she doesn’t think the results were right, true or proper….or something:

Either she’s conceding or she isn’t. She needs to stop with the double speak. If she can’t win, she can’t win. Concede and be a good sport about it.

Also congratulations to Brian Kemp for defeating this socialist loser and saving Georgia from all of the agony she would have put on them if she had won.

UPDATE: The AP reported that she’s “effectively ending her challenge to Republican Brian Kemp”. However, MSNBC is reporting that Abrams is filing a lawsuit. So heck, I don’t know what’s going on based on this reporting:

It sounds like based on this that she’s going ahead with the ridiculous lawsuit that we reported on earlier this morning. Which means she isn’t ending her challenge.

In fact, that’s what the AP is now reporting:

Democrat Stacey Abrams says she will file a federal lawsuit to challenge the “gross mismanagement” of Georgia elections.

She said: “In the coming days, we will be filing a major federal lawsuit against the state of Georgia for the gross mismanagement of this election and to protect future elections.”

UPDATE: I conferred with El Sooper and after watching it, he believes the gist of her lawsuit isn’t to overturn this election, but to make sure future elections are run differently.
