BREAKING: Statue of Kit Carson and Christopher Columbus being dismantled in Denver

The city of Denver is dismantling the statue of Kit Carson over threats that it would be toppled by protesters:

Instead of protecting the statue, the city of Denver is doing the bidding of the protesters and taking it down.

So what exactly is so controversial about Kit Carson? He was a Union soldier and an ambassador to Native Americans out West. Maybe my history is lacking, but I’m not sure what is so controversial about Carson.

UPDATE: The city of Denver also dismantled the base of the statue of Christopher Columbus after it was toppled last night, and it appears it isn’t coming back:

How ridiculous.

I think it’s like Ted Cruz stated last night on the news that rioters toppled a statue of George Washington on the campus of George Washington University:

“The vandals tearing down monuments aren’t concerned with the Civil War. They simply hate America.”

I think that’s about the only connection that can really be made given the diverse nature of the statues they are attacking. Columbus, Lincoln, Carson, Washington, Jefferson, and the list goes on and on.

They hate America.

Below is an ad by the GOP this week that sums it up:
