Rep. Steve Scalise has won the nomination for Speaker in the secret Republican conference vote that took place this morning.
The vote was close, with Scalise beating Jim Jordan 113-99.

Despite Scalise winning, Chad Pergram reports that Republicans won’t take this vote to the floor until they have enough votes:
Scalise wins in the conference for Spkr. This does not guarantee he will win the flr. But he is the official nominee for Speaker. House GOPers have said they won’t go to the flr until they are confident they have the votes.
