BREAKING: Test vote on government shutdown FAILS and seven Republicans voted against it

A test vote on the government shutdown failed today by a vote of 45-55, which means seven Republicans also voted against the funding bills.

Democrats are opposing the funding bill because it contains DHS funding and ICE is part of DHS. We’ve already told you why this argument is stupid.

Aisha Hasnie lists the Republicans who voted NO, noting that Thune switched his vote to NO in order to bring this back up again:

The Senate test vote on government funding FAILED — 45-55.

7 Republicans voted no — Sen Johnson (R-WI), Sen Tuberville (R-AL), Sen Lee (R-UT), Sen Budd (R-NC), Sen Paul (R-KY), Sen Moody (R-FL), Sen Rick Scott (R-FL)

Thune also switched to NO, but that is procedural to bring it back up in future.

Looks like we are headed for another government shutdown.
