BREAKING: Trump admin lowers the BOOM, threatens Turkey over immediate release of Christian Pastor! [UPDATE: TRUMP SPEAKS!]

I am so glad the Trump administration isn’t settling for Christian Pastor Andrew Brunson simply being moved by Turkey to ‘house arrest’ while his phony trial continues.

Today they are lowering the boom, demanding the immediate release of Brunson and threatening significant sanctions if it doesn’t happen:

This breaking news comes from a speech VP Mike Pence has just given, where he lays all of this out. You seriously need to watch this:

Pence says the ‘house arrest’ is a welcome first step, but that it is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I love that.

Then he makes the US position crystal clear for Erdogan:

And to president Erdogan and the Turkish government, I have a message on behalf of the President of the United States of America: Release Pastor Andrew Brunson NOW or be prepared to face the consequences! If Turkey does not take immediate action to free this innocent man of faith and send him home to America, the United States will impose significant sanctions on Turkey until Pastor Andrew Brunson is free!

Now that’s what I’m talking about!

I suspect Erdogan won’t just release Brunson, but I’m glad we are taking such a strong position now. We’ve played footsie with Turkey long enough. It’s time they do what needs to be done or, as Pence put it so well, suffer the consequences.
