DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has just made the determination that the temporary protected status for Ethiopians no longer applies, as their country no longer necessitates it.
Here’s a bit more from Reuters:
The Trump administration is ending temporary legal status for citizens of Ethiopia in the United States, according to a government notice on Friday.
“After reviewing country conditions and consulting with appropriate U.S. Government agencies, the Secretary determined that Ethiopia no longer continues to meet the conditions for the designation for Temporary Protected Status,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a notice posted in the Federal Register.
It goes without saying that this will be challenged in court. But the Supreme Court has already allowed DHS to cancel the TPS of Venezuelans that Biden protected. And I fully expect Noem to win on this issue again..
