President Trump this morning is pushing Republicans to pass the Save America Act, ‘and not the watered down version’, suggesting this is a fight for the soul of our nation:
The Republicans MUST DO, with PASSION, and at the expense of everything else, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT – And not the watered down version. This is a Country Defining fight for the Soul of our Nation!
He then just published the real Save America Act:
THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!
1. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!).
2. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP IN ORDER TO VOTE.
3. NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY, OR TRAVEL!).
4. NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS.
5. NO TRANSGENDER MUTILATION SURGERY FOR CHILDREN, WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE PARENTS.
I say amen to all of that. However, we know the Save America Act that passed the House was only the top three. I think what Trump is pushing is a separate bill for the last two.
He also notably doesn’t mention the Senate by name. That’s clearly intentional, so as to put pressure on Leader Thune to get the Save Act passed, without saying it directly.
