While most of us were sleeping the House passed the two-year budget deal that earlier passed the Senate. They passed it 240-186 with 67 Republicans voting against it.
Well Trump just tweeted that he signed the bill and most of his tweet is about the military getting the funding that they needed:
Just signed Bill. Our Military will now be stronger than ever before. We love and need our Military and gave them everything — and more. First time this has happened in a long time. Also means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

It also means more DEBT, DEBT, DEBT!
Like I said yesterday, the military funding is the main thing that Trump cares about. It doesn’t matter that the spending caps have been taken away and the thus the spending has been increased by 300 billion or so. He’s just happy he got what he wants.
But this is no surprise because we’ve all known that Trump isn’t a fiscal conservative. The fault here really lies with the Republicans in Congress. Just as the demonstrated their refusal to completely repeal Obamacare, now they are demonstrating their penchant for big spending, just like they did under the Bush administration.
UPDATE:
Trump just added this tweet, suggesting that Republicans were ‘forced’ to increase spending:
Without more Republicans in Congress, we were forced to increase spending on things we do not like or want in order to finally, after many years of depletion, take care of our Military. Sadly, we needed some Dem votes for passage. Must elect more Republicans in 2018 Election!

Maybe I just don’t understand, but I thought budget bills could go through reconciliation. I’m not sure why this bill had to be bipartisan.
