BREAKING: Trump to nominate Ken Cuccinelli for BIG immigration job…

Trump is going to nominate Ken Cuccinelli as head of the legal immigration services after the current director submitted his resignation:

WASHINGTON POST – President Trump plans to install Ken Cuccinelli as the new director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, placing the conservative activist and former Virginia attorney general at the head of the agency that runs the country’s legal immigration system, administration officials said Friday.

L. Francis Cissna, the agency’s current director, has told his staff that he will leave his post June 1.

The move extends the purge of senior leadership at the Department of Homeland Security, replacing Cissna, a Senate-confirmed agency head with deep expertise on immigration law, with Cuccinelli, a conservative firebrand disliked by senior GOP figures, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

But there’s a problem.

And his name is McConnell:

McConnell has vowed to block Cuccinelli from getting confirmed for any position, blaming him for leading a 2014 effort defying McConnell that promoted insurgent candidates running against sitting Republican incumbents. And Cuccinelli signed a letter drafted by conservative activists two years ago calling on McConnell to step aside.

After Cuccinelli was rumored as a potential DHS secretary, McConnell told reporters he had communicated with the White House about his opposition.

“I have expressed my, shall I say, lack of enthusiasm for one of them . . . Ken Cuccinelli,” McConnell said.

This is what conservatives don’t like about McConnell.

While he has done some great stuff on the Republican side of the aisle, worthy of praise, he’s also more of a RINO when it comes to his own party and making sure conservatives stay out of the Senate. Just ask Jim DeMint.

McConnell would rather have a yes-man Republican elected than a true conservative with principles, and the fact that Ken Cuccinelli fought him over this just burned his britches. And now he’s gonna try and get his revenge. Ugh.

  1. It’s about time for Trump and McConnell to have a good old fashioned throw-down, and see who has the real power. Ken Cucinelli is a serious hard-core choice.

Yes, yes, yes. For too long Trump has been at the mercy/control of the Senate majority leader McConnell. Sure, he’s gotten many Trump judges confirmed, but, he also has refused to work with the Trump admin. when it comes to things like repealing Ocare, Immigration reform, and anything else McConnell has deemed to be too conservative for his tastes. McConnell vowed years ago that he would crush conservatives everywhere. Time to put McConnell to the test to see what little he is made of that even leans right. In my opinion Trump, by naming Cuccinelli to a confirmable position is truly testing McConnell. We already know McConnell and his Chinese wife have major shipping interests between China products coming to the US which are likely being hurt by Trump’s Chinese tariffs which is hurting the McConnell’s business interests.

PS- Whoever it was that advised Trump to name McConnell’s wife to the Transportation Sec. position was insane, incompetent, and a total idiot.

  2. McConnell being childish and holding a grudge. Put your ill will aside Mitch and concentrate on getting more Judges confirmed on the Courts.

  3. Ken Cuccinelli – Standing ovation!!!

Bitch McConnell is a POS. There’s NOTHING nice to say about him. HE is the core of the RINO movement in the republican party and the source of much of the corruption and spinelessness. I can’t say what I want to happen to him… but he needs to go. NOW!

You blew it BIG TIME Kentucky!!!

    1. @muckjumper I agree. McConnell is the biggest RINO and swamp creature in DC. He has made it his mission to destroy conservatives and I can’t stand the man.

Come on Kentucky, you can do better.

  4. I beg to differ. I can’t think of much of anything that McConnell has done to deserve praise. Him, and some others, have done more to hurt the GOP and conservatism than anyone. Sure, hes done his job a few times but I do that all day everyday and no one praises me, nor gives a s#%t.

    1. One thing that gives me great smiles and much pleasure is the fact that Matt Bevin is now the Governor of KY. A much more important position than Senator.

  5. Wait a second. According to some people around here STILL, Trump is a Democrat. I am so confused why he chooses conservatives to fill jobs.

    1. Yeah, it’s almost as if that position doesn’t make sense. Trump being a “democrat”.

      1. @ryan-o Lol, it doesn’t make sense to me at all. Does he have a perfect conservative record? No, but I’d put up his list of conservative actions against their not-so-conservative list any day of the week.

  6. McConnell should recuse himself from the vote because of such a personal agenda against Ken. He shouldn’t be allowed to block his vote for a personal dislike of the man.

  7. From what I’ve seen here in Virginia, “Cooch” is pretty much a ‘no nonsense’ guy.

  8. McConnell, and people like him, are why I wrote off the republican party. He is one senator from one state. His opinion should not be any more important than any other senator. If the democrats weren’t off the rails crazy, he would not be in charge of the senate.

    1. But we don’t have many to spare. The other RINOs (Romney, Collins, Murkowski, etc.) will follow McConnell’s whip and vote No too.

  11. DJT is making game-changing appointments, now let’s seal the border and start the deportations

  14. Wow,this is exciting. Can you imagine the possibility that this might cause so much distance between McConnell and the President ‘they could never work together .If McConnell follows through with his threats to sabotage Cuccinelli’s nomination, this should end it for their relationship.

  15. Hmmm. let’s see, what’s more important to the American people, a strong leader as director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or McConnell’s pride…?
