Tulis Gabbard announced this morning that she’s officially leaving the Democratic Party.
She put out a short video this morning and a few tweets explaining her decision:

I would note that, at least in this short version of her announcement, she doesn’t say she’s joining the Republican Party. That might be in the longer version, which I’ll post below, but I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.
Tulsi does sound more like a Republican these days however, as with all Democrats who leave, I worry they’ll become a RINO with some positions remaining liberal if they become Republican.
I am very happy that she’s leaving the Democratic Party because she’s absolutely right about how radical they’ve become in the last decade or two. But if she does become a Republican, it’s just not something I can get very excited about.
