The House just passed a ‘test vote’ on new healthcare legislation, passing 213–209 and clearing the way for a final floor vote later today. The legislation would allow people to buy insurance in groups in order to save money on premiums, which are skyrocketing this year.
A discharge petition on extending Obamacare subsidies for the next three years got four moderate Republican endorsements and will be headed for a vote in the new year. What isn’t included in the Democrat bill are any Hyde amendment protections, which would keep taxpayer funds from paying for abortions.
