The Lesbian LA Fire Chief just went on the record criticizing the city for not funding the Los Angeles Fire Department appropriately.
She said ““The fire department needs to be funded appropriately. So that I can look any community member in the eye and say, ‘Your LAFD’s got your back.’”
When pressed by a reporter who asked “And right now you can’t?”, she responded “No!”

The reporter went further and asked her if the city failed the LAFD and she responded “Yes”:

I could have sworn that Mayor Karen Bass said her budget cuts to the LAFD had no effect on what’s going on right now. Yeah, we all knew that was a big fat lie as soon as she uttered it. I mean, they had no water to fight this fire. It speaks for itself.
