It’s just being reported that passengers have been evacuated from the Kansas City International Airport and the FBI is at the airport.
Officials aren’t saying what this ‘potential threat’ is, but on social media they are saying it’s a bomb threat.
Here’s the video:
Below is the reporting:
Crowds of passengers have been evacuated from Kansas City International Airport after a possible threat on Sunday, officials say.
The potential threat was not named, but the Kansas City Aviation Department confirmed that parts of the airport terminal have been evacuated “as a precaution.”
“Airport Police are working with the FBI to substantiate any potential threat,” KCAD said.
Flights to and from the airport have been grounded. Traffic has also been diverted away from the airport.
ABC-affiliate in Kansas City, KMBC, reports that law enforcement with dogs were seen headed into the airport.
People were spotted stuck on the tarmac and passengers on planes are not exiting their flights. Garages are being searched, as well. Law enforcement radio mentions an empty bag being left at Vine Street Bistro, but no word if that is what caused this evacuation, KMBC reports.
Those at the airport reported being temporarily moved from parts of the terminal while police investigated.
