ABC’s This Week host Martha Raddatz tried to pin blame for the Schumer Shutdown on President Trump and Republicans, suggesting Trump should be meeting with Democrats and that, because they control both the White House and Congress, they bear responsibility for the shutdown.
But Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was excellent as usual, hitting back on any idea that the blame belongs with Trump and Republicans.

I love the chyron. The only thing Republicans have dug in on is a clean continuing resolution to keep the government open. It’s Democrats who have dug in, in opposition to opening the government. Dontcha love how the garbage media continues to run interference for them?
Oh, the last time I heard the line that one party controlled the White House and both Houses of Congress, it was when Obama was president and they used that line to say Republicans should cave because Democrats control everything. My how things change when it’s Republicans who are in power.
