You can credit both Manchin and Sinema for causing this to happen. Had Tanden not been so partisan and controversial, I’m sure at least one Republican would have ruined it and voted for her.
Team Biden is framing this as Tanden withdrawing her nomination, but this is clearly the White House’s doing. They were standing with her until it became apparent that she wasn’t going to get a single Republican vote and now they must replace her.
The media won’t make this failed nomination controversial and blame it on Biden’s incompetence, as they did when Trump was president. But we all know the truth. She was a horrible pick and that’s all Team Biden.
