Mayor Pete decided to bash Christians on the right tonight. He wasn’t asked about it, he just made a point on his own to do it:

His comments are short, but he paints Christians on the right as monsters with a ridiculous straw man:
For a party that associates itself with Christianity, to say that it is ok to suggest that God would smile on the division of families at the hands of federal agents, that God would condone putting children in cages, has lost all claim to use religious language again.
Who says that on the right? Absolutely nobody. In fact people on the right HATE child separation. It’s just an unfortunate consequence of court rulings that is exacerbated by this asylum migrant surge.
It was a federal judge in 1997 which prohibited “the federal government from keeping children in immigration detention — even if they are with their parents — for more than 20 days.” This wasn’t Trump’s doing. Yet they keep blaming him for it. Obama separated children too but they didn’t care back then. They only care now because Trump is trying to secure the border and prevent illegals from getting into the country, which is the law of the land.
Buttigieg is a reprehensible charlatan trying to take the moral high ground on this migrant crisis when it’s HIS party that refuses to fix the asylum laws. It’s his party that made a deal with Reagan to secure the border and then NEVER DID IT. It’s his party that wants open borders, something they admitted in this very debate tonight, so that illegals can come freely into this country and never be deported.
His party is responsible for the migrant surge that is crippling our border and yet he wants to attack Christians on the right as being monsters? What a schmuck.
