Buzzfeed got their cat themed panties in a bunch when people started making fun at a completely pathetic story they published tracking down a guy for posting a meme that Trump retweeted.
Because that’s really important journalism you guys.
The “science” of a MEME. A MEME.
Let me clue you in, genius, there is no science of memes, they’re dumb images that make you laugh. Done.
Here’s what got Buzzfeed so hot and bothered they had to turn up the journalisming to eleventy:
Is he trolling all of us? pic.twitter.com/rDZ71QfePJ
— Amber Jamieson (@ambiej) August 24, 2017
Was the guy who posted it originally controversial? Hardly.
On his Instagram and Twitter, Travone has regularly posted anti-liberal memes blasting the “violent Left,” Black Lives Matter movement, transgender rights, feminism, and undocumented immigrants.
So, he’s like, a normal conservative? Not to Buzzfeed though, since having any conservative idea is anathema and heretical. I’m betting Jamieson was hoping to discover he was some kind of white supremacist, and finding nothing, went with the post anyway because she wasted time on it.
Or it was just an excuse for a snarky liberal troll to post snarky liberal BS to mock the president. Over a meme.
This was in the post:
This metaphor makes Trump the moon and Obama the sun, and Trump only temporarily passing in front https://t.co/AM4uLmRTyr

Oh wow you really *got* Trump there, Einstein! Start the impeachment proceedings! LOL!
Eclipses have no positive impact on earth, while the Sun is what provides the entire world with life! Keep that in mind.

I mean even for Twitter, this is petty and pathetic. EVEN FOR TWITTER.
Is a tweet from the President suggesting he sees himself as a "dark inanimate object obscuring a source of light?"https://t.co/RqvkIKpD4d
— John Berman (@JohnBerman) August 24, 2017
IT’S A DAMN MEME YOU IDIOT NOT A PH.D THESIS.
They literally asked this dude about the “science” of his meme. Amazing.
And then they got defensive about their petty “journalism”:
Lol at how mad people are at science
— Amber Jamieson (@ambiej) August 24, 2017
Actually it’s more like laughter at how stupid and insane Trump has driven you to pretend this is “journalism.”
Go get him guys! https://t.co/9zUnTkEpUS
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) August 24, 2017
Sorry, Stephen. We’ll try not to report too hard. https://t.co/PDq4QIrVUB
— Tom Namako (@TomNamako) August 24, 2017
LOL!! ASKING A GUY ABOUT THE “SCIENCE” OF A MEME HE POSTED IS HARD JOURNALISM YOU GUYS!!
No seriously glad you found him. I love me some sweet science meme fact checking. https://t.co/oDaBb5DGfi
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) August 24, 2017
The President, who has the world’s most influential Twitter feed, signal boosts someone and we’re not supposed to report? Sharp criticism https://t.co/1ymRdsCAzA
— Tom Namako (@TomNamako) August 24, 2017
What a great scam this guy is running. People pay him for this BS.
If you read TRS a lot you know I’m very critical of Trump. But we try to stick to substantive criticism over policy. We’ve even criticized his tweets – when they have some actual political importance.
Buzzfeed is just trolling stupidly under the cloak of “journalism.”
