UPDATE: SOLDIER DEAD – Canadian Parliament on lockdown after shots fired

The Canadian parliament is on lockdown right now as there have been several shootings in and around the parliament. Police are saying there have been 3 separate shootings, one in the parliament, one at the War Memorial where a ceremonial soldier has been shot, and one at the Rideau Center Mall and it all began before 10am this morning ET. It’s being reported that there are numerous gunmen involved and some are suggesting this may be a terrorist attack. Only one gunman has been killed and others are reportedly still on the loose.

UPDATE: According to multiple sources, including Jake Tapper, the soldier shot this morning has passed away.

UPDATE: The shooter has been confirmed as a convert to Islam.
