“Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force” – IRS is hiring new special agents

The IRS yesterday posted a new job listing online for criminal special agents and what caught people’s attention was that these agents would be required to carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force.

Here’s the job listing. Note the bottom two bullets:

Here’s how they describe the job listing:

As a Special Agent you will combine your accounting skills with law enforcement skills to investigate financial crimes. Special Agents are duly sworn law enforcement officers who are trained to “follow the money.” No matter what the source, all income earned, both legal and illegal, has the potential of becoming involved in crimes which fall within the investigative jurisdiction of the IRS Criminal Investigation.

I saw an article at National Review that said they had deleted the job posting. But I clicked the link in the original tweet identifying this job listing and it’s still there.

I don’t know about you, but when I think of the IRS I don’t think of agents carrying guns and participating in serious law enforcement activities like arrests. And I definitely don’t think of agents using deadly force.

And all of this just in time for the IRS to hire an additional 87,000 agents to harass and bully people. Thanks Joe Biden.
