CBS News quit posting content on Twitter over the weekend because of ‘uncertainty’ created by Elon Musk.
This came after many employees chose to leave the company after Musk had written a letter to employees asking them to commit to a more strenuous work environment with longer hours.
During this time Elon Musk had already begun a poll asking if Twitter users wanted the company to reinstate Trump’s account.
CBS News made this announcement late on Friday:

Musk had initially responded to the news “who made this decision?”. Then he quickly gave up and said “Oh forget it who cares”:

Fast forward to yesterday morning when CBS News reversed course, saying they were resuming use of Twitter:
After pausing for much of the weekend to assess the security concerns, CBS News and Stations is resuming its activity on Twitter as we continue to monitor the situation.

This spawned much mocking on Twitter, including from Elon Musk:

So you say “mainstream media” is biased?
Hmm, will have to fact-check that with mainstream media.
Nope, they say everything is cool!

I think what really happened here is another case of reality smacking a leftist company in the face. They got all uppity over the changes Musk is making to the platform and quit. Then they realized how much they depended on Twitter to get their news out and quickly came running back.
