Judge Cahill, who is presiding over the Chauvin trail, slammed the ‘abhorrent’ comments of Maxine Waters even though he didn’t feel they unduly influence the jury:
NBC NEWS – The California Democratic congresswoman, who has long been a lightning rod, was already facing a torrent of criticism from Republicans for her comments over the weekend urging protesters in Minnesota to “get more confrontational” if Chauvin is not convicted, with several GOP lawmakers calling for Waters’ expulsion from Congress.
Chauvin’s lawyer asked the judge to declare a mistrial over Waters’ comments, arguing that she had prejudiced the jury. Judge Peter Cahill denied the request, but said that Waters’ comments were “abhorrent” and that she may have handed the defense a lifeline anyway.
The reason the judge doesn’t believe that the that Maxine Waters unduly influenced the jury is because the jury had been told not to watch the news.
Then the judge dropped a bombshell:
“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,” Cahill said as arguments in the case concluded Monday and the jury began deliberations.
Wow. What a statement by the judge. And you better believe that, especially if Chauvin gets a guilty verdict, this is exactly how his legal team will proceed.
Wouldn’t that be something if it turned out Maxine Waters was the sole reason Chauvin walked free. What would BLM do then? Would they loot and torch her home?
Republicans in the House today, chief among them Kevin McCarthy, have demanded that Pelosi take action against Waters for her offensive and irresponsible statements of incitement. But Pelosi doesn’t think Waters did anything wrong and won’t make her apologize.
McCarthy is continuing to push for her getting censored:
This weekend in Minnesota, Maxine Waters broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence.
Speaker Pelosi is ignoring Waters’ behavior—that’s why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments.

The judge’s comments will no doubt help McCarthy, but I’m betting it’s doubtful that Democrats will turn on Waters. Which is incredible given how they lambasted Trump for what they claimed was incitement on January 6th, even though he said NOTHING like what Waters said over the weekend.
