“Under no reasonable definition is that a quorum present to do business under the Constitution.” That’s what Rep. Chip Roy explained on Friday about the sham vote that perpetrated this $1.7 trillion fraud on the American people.
In his floor remarks this morning, the furious Texas congressman said there was no quorum and that half the House wasn’t even present. But after the final tally he updated that to point out that in fact it was MORE than half who voted by proxy under covid rules.
I was wrong. It was more than half: 226 (unofficially) of 431 House members voted by proxy (signing they weren’t present due to COVID). Under no reasonable definition is that a quorum present to do business under the Constitution. #MerryChristmas #StandUpForAmerica https://t.co/xCEzhP98UC

His remarks this morning on the bill were straight fire.
There were an [unofficial] 226 proxy votes cast on the $1.7 trillion omnibus in the final hours before Christmas
Rep. Roy breaks down how this creates a lack of a physical quorum as REQUIRED by the constitution.

He also retweeted this which is a great point.
All the returning GOP Senators who voted for the omnibus bill should come to the next House GOP Conference meeting to take questions from our membership and explain themselves. They did a huge disservice to the country this week.

And here’s Rep. Andy Biggs, who voted no, explaining why he did.
Today, I voted against the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending beast in DC.
Here's why in simple terms: pic.twitter.com/3wUlNOmr8d

He added this afterward:
The $1.7 trillion omnibus is so bad even @RepAOC voted against it.

But like we’ve talked about, it wasn’t for any good reason on her part.
And Dan Bishop, who did the insane thread this week about the insanity in the bill, points out the really worst part.
All of the provisions listed in this thread, and more, will now be signed into law.
This sham process is a bipartisan betrayal of Americans.

NONE got negotiated out before this mostly proxy vote. ALL are going to be signed into law by Biden.
Great job, Mitch. Your Senate foisted this on the House.
