Christianity Today says Trump “should be removed from office”

The Editor-in-Chief of the magazine founded by Billy Graham, Christianity Today, says the publication has now taken the position that Trump should be removed from office because tried to get the Ukrainians to “harass and discredit” Joe Biden:

DC EXAMINER – The evangelical magazine founded by the Rev. Billy Graham called President Trump’s phone call to the Ukrainian president “profoundly immoral” and called for him to be removed from office.

Claiming they prefer “to stay above the fray and allow Christians with different political convictions to make their arguments in the public square,” editor-in-chief Mark Galli asserted in a Thursday editorial that the moral turpitude of Trump requires the publication to support his removal.

Appealing to Graham’s legacy of expressing political opinions in “conviction and love,” Christianity Today wrote that while they “love and pray for our president,” the case against Trump is “unambiguous.”

“The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents,” the publication said, referring to Trump requesting in a July 25 phone call that Ukraine investigate the alleged corruption of the Biden family. “That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral,” the magazine continued.

It really sounds like to me that Mark Galli is some version of a flaming anti-Trumper, because what else could explain this line: “The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents.”

Harass and discredit? That’s not even remotely true and for him to write this is just irresponsible. If I were a regular reader of their magazine, I’d gather all of them I could and use them to start a huge bonfire and invite all my friends over to roast marshmallows.

Galli doesn’t even mention Hunter Biden in his article, nor does he mention Biden, whose interview admitting he used US aid to force Ukraine to fire the prosecutor looking into his son’s corrupt company was the whole impetus for his comments on July 25th. It’s all about Trump being a moral scumbag or something and that’s why he needs to be removed. It’s just garbage (I know I’ve used that word a lot tonight).
