Christie impatient for federal flood relief, says Congress should “figure out budget cuts later”

It appears as if Chris Christie is under the impression that the federal government is suddenly flush with cash.

Isn’t that the way he comes off in this clip? I’m just sayin’. Christie is implying that Eric Cantor and other Republicans are being scrooges for insisting on offsetting budget cuts to pay for federal flood relief in New Jersey and other states affected by last weekend’s storm. But Christie could just as easily be miffed at Harry Reid and other Democrats for balking at what should be no-brainer offsetting cuts. Why he’s throwing his fellow Republicans in Congress under the bus like this, I have no idea.

News flash: The country is broke. No, wait – it’s way worse than that. The money has to come from somewhere. The days of spending first, asking questions later are long gone – even for disaster relief and other legitimate government expenditures.
